Pom Team 〰️
Fusion Dance Center’s Pom Team was started in 2018 as a part of Competition, but in 2022-23, we are revamped the Pom Team program to be two stand alone teams! These teams will primarily focus on pom dance technique but may also include hip hop and jazz elements. These teams do not require an audition or performance commitments outside of the regular recital. However, various recreational performance opportunities may arise.
We have two Pom Teams, both of which rehearse on Tuesday nights. The Recreational Performance Team is for learning basic technique and combinations for recreational performances such as parades, ball games, social centers, and festivals. This team is intended to represent the studio in the community and dancers are expected to take another studio weekly class. The other class is for learning higher level Pom and Dance Team techniques that will train a dancer to be prepared for collegiate level auditions in UDA Dance Style technique.
Dancers ages 7+ may participate in our recreational performance team and dancers 11+ may request to join the Pom Technique class. However, it is expected that participants in this class have some level of dance training, or be concurrently taking a jazz or ballet class.
Any FDC members representing Fusion Dance Center in public settings must commit to conducting themselves consistent with studio rules, and in a manner that reflects the studio values of community, honesty, integrity, wellness, kindness, compassion, and quality. Our team members are expected to be role models both in and out of the studio. We want all team members to find satisfaction and joy in their work and discover their unique talents while uplifting and cheering on teammates!
